AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 1958 OF 1972, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE HOLLY SPRINGS RURAL FIRE DISTRICT IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO INCREASE FROM FIFTY TO FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS THE AMOUNT THE DISTRICT MAY BORROW IN ANTICIPATION OF TAXES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
District's borrowing authority increased
SECTION 1. Section 5(h) of Act 1958 of 1972, as added by Section 1 of Act 893 of 1976, is amended to read:
"(h) To borrow not exceeding five hundred thousand dollars on such terms and for such a period as to the fire control board may seem most beneficial for the fire district in anticipation of taxes. The indebtedness must be evidenced by a note issued by the members of the board and the county treasurer. The full faith, credit, and taxing power of the Holly Springs Rural Fire District is hereby irrevocably pledged for the payment of the indebtedness."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Ratified the 6th day of March, 2003.
