A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO APPLICATION FOR TEACHING CREDENTIAL-REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2774, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to Application for Teaching Credential-Required Documentation, designated as Regulation Document Number 2774, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

The State Department of Education recommends that the State Board of Education promulgate amendments to Regulation 43-52, Application for Teaching Credential-Required Documentation, to clarify certification application requirements and align South Carolina's regulation on certification application requirements with Regulation 43-51 and the new federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (Pub. L. 107-110).
