A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO MR. THOMAS A. JACKSON, SR., OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY, FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE TO HIS COMMUNITY AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA AND TO WISH HIM SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, South Carolinians who commit their professional lives to state service are talented, unique, and invaluable people who influence the lives of many and work to promote integrity and pride in being citizens of this State; and

Whereas, it is appropriate to honor these individuals for their hard work and dedication in improving South Carolina and in making great impacts on its citizens; and

Whereas, Mr. Thomas A. Jackson, of Fairfield County, graciously gave many years of his leadership and wisdom to the people of Fairfield and the State of South Carolina by remaining devoted to helping secure a better quality of life for his neighbors and friends; and

Whereas, Mr. Jackson demonstrated his passion for improving educational programs in this State by honorably serving as an Administrator of Lancaster Vocational School; and

Whereas, he most recently offered his time and energy as a magistrate for Fairfield County where he sought to bring justice to his local community from July of 1987 until August of 2000, handling his responsibilities with courage and fairness; and

Whereas, his guidance and enthusiasm have been deeply missed since his retirement as the Fairfield County Magistrate; and

Whereas, since departing from his professional career, he has been able to enjoy spending quality time with his loving family and many friends. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly wish to extend their appreciation to Mr. Thomas A. Jackson, Sr., of Fairfield County, for his many years of service to his community and the State of South Carolina and wish him success and happiness in his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Thomas A. Jackson, Sr., of Fairfield County.
