VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING ARTICLE 23, TO CHAPTER 1, TITLE 1 SO AS TO REQUIRE CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICERS TO OBTAIN A CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Title 1 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
Section 1-1-1610. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, as a condition of holding office, a constitutional officer shall hold a current concealed weapons permit issued pursuant to Section 23-31-215."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
