VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE THE DORCHESTER ACADEMY RAIDERS BASEBALL TEAM ON WINNING THE SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION CLASS AAA CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO COMMEND THE HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION OF THE PLAYERS, COACHES, STAFF, AND OTHER SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR THEIR 2003 CLASS AAA CHAMPIONSHIP WIN.
Whereas, the Knights ended the season with an outstanding record of seventeen wins and four losses. Dorchester defeated Orangeburg to win the State title eight to two by scoring four runs in the sixth inning; and
Whereas, the bases were loaded in the sixth inning with two outs when Senior Chris Myers hit a squibbler down the third base line and beat out the throw to first to break the two to two tie and seal the victory for Dorchester; and
Whereas, under the exceptional leadership of Head Coach, Danny Jackson, and his Assistant Coaches Mike Minns and Robbie McClure, the Raiders were able to win the State Championship; and
Whereas, the members of the incredible 2003 Raiders Baseball Team included: Matthew Pope, Travis Atkinson, Brandon Bazzle, Andrew Darden, Wayne Dukes, Jr., Christopher Myers, Adam Canady, Christopher Minus, Gregory Rice, Adam Pendarvis, Landon Wimberly, Brent Jackson, Elliot Mauney, Brandon McClure, David Metts, and Batboy Justin McClure; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are proud to honor the Dorchester Academy Baseball Team for winning the 2003 Class AAA State Championship. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate the Dorchester Academy Raiders Baseball Team on the South Carolina Independent Schools Association Class AAA State Championship Title and commend the hard work and determination of the players, coaches, staff, and other school officials for their 2003 Class AAA State Championship win.
Be it resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Dorchester Academy Raiders Baseball Team.
