A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE THE EXTREME SKILLS AND DETERMINATION OF MR. ZACK SIEFERT OF HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOL IN GREENVILLE COUNTY AND TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO MR. SIEFERT ON HIS MANY ATHLETIC ACHIEVEMENTS.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly take great pleasure in recognizing and honoring the special talents of citizens of this State; and

Whereas, young people who possess outstanding athletic skills deserve to be honored by this General Assembly; and

Whereas, under the direction of Coach Jay Feltz, Mr. Zack Siefert has improved his golf game since he began playing for Hillcrest High School in Greenville County when he was in the eighth grade; and

Whereas, with great dedication, Mr. Seifert has become one of the best golfers in the State and has led his team in scoring averages since his first season, shooting an average of 39.3 in 1999, 37.6 in 2000, 37.9 in 2001, 35.9 in 2002, and 35.02 in 2003; and

Whereas, as a sophomore in 2001, he placed thirteenth at the Southern Cross Tournament and was named an All-Region player; and

Whereas, in 2002, with a tournament average of 69.83, he led his team to many tournament victories and was named both an All-Region and All-State player; and

Whereas, in this year at Hillcrest High School, Mr. Siefert received many prestigious awards including being named, once again, as an All-Region and All-State player, being chosen for the North/South All-Star Team, receiving the Jay Haas Award, and being a medallist for the Class AAAA State Championship Tournament; and

Whereas, Mr. Siefert received an athletic scholarship from Clemson University where he will continue his education and his golfing career; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly wish Mr. Zack Siefert the best of luck in his future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize the extreme skills and determination of Mr. Zack Siefert of Hillcrest High School in Greenville County and extend their congratulations to Mr. Siefert on his many athletic achievements.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Zack Siefert of Greenville County.
