A HOUSE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO WILLENE AND GORDON SMITH OF LEE COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR FIFTIETH AND GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND WISHING FOR THEM MANY MORE YEARS OF WEDDED HAPPINESS.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives note that during the legislative interim on November 22, 2003, Willene and Gordon Smith of Lee County celebrated their Fiftieth and therefore Golden Wedding Anniversary; and

Whereas, this extraordinary milestone was recognized by their children, family, and many friends at a grand occasion held at the First Baptist Church of Bishopville; and

Whereas, there is no greater success that can be had in life than a marriage and family life that endures the years and tribulations that arise in life; and

Whereas, it is with pleasure that the members of the House of Representatives pause in their deliberations in order to express their congratulations to these two outstanding South Carolinians on the occasion of passing this milestone. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their congratulations to Willene and Gordon Smith of Lee County on the occasion of their Fiftieth and Golden Anniversary and extend to them best wishes for many more years of wedded happiness.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Willene and Gordon Smith.
