A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, RELATING TO MOTORIST INSURANCE IDENTIFICATION DATABASE PROGRAM, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2820, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The regulations of the Department of Public Safety, relating to Motorist Insurance Identification Database Program, designated as Regulation Document Number 2820, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.

These new regulations outline procedures to be followed by the Department and the Insurance Industry to implement the Motorist Insurance Identification Database Program Act of 2002. The regulations outline the information to be reported by the Insurance Industry, method for reporting and frequency of reporting under this program.
