TO PROVIDE THAT THE BOARDS OF TRUSTEES OF THE NEWBERRY AND SALUDA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2003-2004 ARE AUTHORIZED TO FORGIVE UP TO THREE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED BY ANY SCHOOL OF THE DISTRICTS BECAUSE OF SNOW, ICE, OR EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 59-1-430(B) of the 1976 Code, the Boards of Trustees of the Newberry and Saluda County School Districts for school year 2003-2004 are authorized to forgive up to three school days missed by any school of the districts because of snow, ice, or extreme weather conditions. If the boards forgive these school days missed, the requirements of Section 59-1-430(B) must be met.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
