TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA FORESTRY COMMISSION, RELATING TO THE GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR HUNTING, FISHING, AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES ON ALL SOUTH CAROLINA FORESTRY COMMISSION LANDS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2841, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 23, TITLE 48 AND CHAPTER 1, TITLE 50 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the South Carolina Forestry Commission, relating to the general rules and regulations for hunting, fishing, and recreational activities on all South Carolina Forestry Commission lands, designated as Regulation Document Number 2841, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 23, Title 48 and Chapter 1, Title 50 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The commission is proposing to combine, under one regulation, the general rules and regulations for hunting, fishing, and recreational activities on all South Carolina Forestry Commission lands. The repealed regulations 55-1 through 55-5 were approved at various times since 1975. The new regulation, 55-1, will bring uniformity and conformity to rules and regulations for all South Carolina Forestry Commission lands, address expanded use of lands by the public, as well as conform to the Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Management Area (WMA) regulations where South Carolina Forestry Commission lands are leased in the WMA program.
