To whom was referred a Joint Resolution (S. 269) to authorize the State Budget and Control Board, effective March 1, 2003, to transfer ownership of a Surplus National Guard Armory in Ridgeland, South Carolina, etc., respectfully

A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO AUTHORIZE THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD, EFFECTIVE MARCH 1, 2003, TO TRANSFER OWNERSHIP OF A SURPLUS NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY IN RIDGELAND, SOUTH CAROLINA, TO THE COUNTY OF JASPER.

Whereas, the National Guard Armory located at 1509 Grays Highway (Highway 278 West) outside of the city limits of Ridgeland, South Carolina, was vacated by the National Guard Troop 202 at the end of 2002; and

Whereas, the State Military Department has relocated the National Guard Troop to Beaufort, South Carolina, and has declared this property surplus to its current needs. Now, therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 25-1-1660 and 1-11-58 of the 1976 Code, the State Budget and Control Board, effective March 1, 2003, is authorized to transfer ownership of the surplus National Guard Armory located at 1509 Grays Highway (Highway 278 West), Ridgeland, South Carolina, to the County of Jasper.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
