A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE OFFICER CECIL GARRICK OF COLLETON COUNTY ON BEING PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF UNITED STATES AIR FORCE CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS DURING HIS MILITARY CAREER.

Whereas, Officer Cecil Garrick is a 1972 graduate of Ruffin High School in Colleton County where he distinguished himself as a member of the men's basketball team, band, student council, and National Honor Society; and

Whereas, he furthered his education by attending South Carolina State University, obtained an associate degree in applied science from the Air Force Community College in 1995, and an associate degree of art from Saint Leo College in 1998; and

Whereas, Officer Garrick was employed by Dayco Products, Inc., from 1973 through 1976; and

Whereas, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1976 and has had a distinguished military career which has included assignments in Alaska, Sicily, and Greece; and

Whereas, throughout his military career, Officer Garrick has received numerous awards for his bravery and service to his country which include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Accommodation Medal; and

Whereas, it has been brought to the attention of the members of the House of Representatives that Officer Garrick recently has been promoted from the rank of Airman 3rd Class to Chief Master Sergeant; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are proud to recognize Officer Cecil Garrick on obtaining the rank of United States Air Force Master Sergeant. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives commend and congratulate Officer Cecil Garrick of Colleton County on being promoted to the rank of United States Air Force Chief Master Sergeant and wish him continued success during his military career.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Master Sergeant Cecil Garrick.
