A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE UNION HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL COACH MICHAEL ANTHONY FOR WINNING HIS THIRD CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly applaud Coach Michael Anthony on winning the Class AAA Football State Championship at Williams-Brice Stadium Saturday, December 7, 2002; and

Whereas, Coach Anthony is a dedicated and hard working football coach who has led the Yellow Jackets to four consecutive state championship games, winning three out of the four; and

Whereas, Coach Anthony's record for the past four seasons is fifty-four wins against only six losses and in the process he has produced some of the top athletes in South Carolina, including Roscoe Crosby, Kyle Browning, Mickey Rice, Charles Brandon, Eric Young, David Smith, and Josh Harris; and

Whereas, this season the Yellow Jackets avenged their overtime loss to Camden in last year's title game, with a sixty-one to twenty-eight thrashing on December seventh in Columbia; and

Whereas, Coach Anthony attributes most of the team's success to his remarkable coaching staff and gives them the credit they deserve for the hard work and long hours that are needed to produce a championship team; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to recognize the Union High School Yellow Jackets Football Coach, Michael Anthony, on a truly remarkable season and State Championship. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, commend and congratulate Union High School Football Coach Michael Anthony for winning his third Class AAA State Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Michael Anthony of Union.
