A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON JANUARY 23, 2003, AND JANUARY 24, 2003, BY THE STUDENTS OF ANY SCHOOL IN THE LAURENS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER FIFTY-SIX WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO SNOW, ICE, OR INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, IS EXEMPT FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The school days missed on January 23, 2003, and January 24, 2003, by the students of any school in Laurens County School District Number Fifty-Six when the school was closed due to snow, ice, or inclement weather conditions, is exempt from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
