TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-3-225 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE COMPENSATION FOR DIRECTORS OF THE DEPARTMENTS OF STATE GOVERNMENT APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR MAY NOT EXCEED ONE DOLLAR ANNUALLY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 5, Chapter 3, Title 1 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 1-3-225. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the compensation for a director of a department of state government, as enumerated in Section 1-30-10, appointed by the Governor may not exceed one dollar annually."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
