A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-430, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN OCONEE COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE AND RENAME CERTAIN VOTING PRECINCTS OF OCONEE COUNTY AND REDESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER FOR THE MAP ON WHICH LINES OF THESE PRECINCTS ARE DELINEATED AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICAL SERVICES OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 7-7-430 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 282 of 1998, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-430.    (A)    In Oconee County there are the following voting precincts:

Bountyland

Earles Grove,

Fair Play,

Friendship,

Holly Springs,

Keowee,

Long Creek,

Madison,

Mountain Rest,

Newry-Corinth,

Oakway,

Ravenel,

Return,

Richland,

Salem,

Seneca No. 1,

Seneca No. 2,

Seneca No. 3,

Seneca No. 4,

Shiloh,

South Union,

Stamp Creek,

Tamassee,

Tokeena/Providence,

Utica,

Walhalla No. 1,

Walhalla No. 2,

Westminster No. 1,

Westminster No. 2, and

West Union.

(B)    The precinct lines defining the above precincts in Oconee County are as shown on the official map prepared by and on file with the Division Office of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board designated as document P-7398 P-73-03 and as shown on certified copies of the official map provided to the State Election Commission and the Oconee Registration and Elections Commission by the division.

(C)    The polling places for the precincts provided in this section must be established by the Oconee Registration and Elections Commission."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
