TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 11-9-150 SO AS TO EXEMPT FROM ACROSS-THE-BOARD REDUCTIONS ORDERED BY THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD AMOUNTS APPROPRIATED IN THE ANNUAL GENERAL APPROPRIATIONS ACT AS SALARY SUPPLEMENTS FOR COUNTY CLERKS OF COURT, PROBATE JUDGES, SHERIFFS, REGISTRARS OF DEEDS, COUNTY AUDITORS, AND COUNTY TREASURERS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 1, Chapter 9, Title 11 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 11-9-150. Amounts appropriated in the annual general appropriations act as salary supplements for county clerks of court, probate judges, sheriffs, registrars of deeds, county auditors, and county treasurers are exempt from any across-the-board reductions in appropriations ordered by the State Budget and Control Board as a result of revenue shortfalls."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
