TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-230, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN DORCHESTER COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE AND RENAME CERTAIN VOTING PRECINCTS IN DORCHESTER COUNTY, REDESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER FOR THE MAP ON WHICH LINES OF THESE PRECINCTS ARE DELINEATED AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICS OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD, AND CORRECT CERTAIN REFERENCES.
Amend Title To Conform
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 7-7-230 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 238 of 1996, is further amended to read:
"Section 7-7-230. (A) In Dorchester County there are the following voting precincts:

(B) The precinct lines defining the above precincts are as shown on maps filed with the Division Office of Research and Statistical Services Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board designated as document P-3596 P-35-04 and as shown on certified copies provided to the State Election Commission and the Dorchester County Board of Voter Elections and Registration by the division office.
(C) The polling places for the precincts provided in this section must be established by the Dorchester County Election Commission Board of Elections and Registration."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 2004.
