A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-40, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN AIKEN COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE CERTAIN PRECINCTS AND REDESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER ON WHICH LINES OF THESE PRECINCTS ARE DELINEATED AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICS OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 7-7-40(B) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 87 of 2001, is further amended to read:

"(B)    The precinct lines defining the precincts provided in subsection (A) of this section are as shown on the official map prepared by and on file with the Division Office of Research and Statistical Services Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board designated as document P-03-01 P-03-04 and as shown on certified copies of the official map provided by the division office to the State Election Commission and the Aiken County Board of Elections and Registration."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
