A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND MAGISTRATE BOBBY O. SMITH OF GRAYS, SOUTH CAROLINA, FOR A DISTINGUISHED MAGISTERIAL CAREER IN JASPER COUNTY UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS MAGISTRATE.

Whereas, Bobby O. Smith has served Jasper County as a magistrate with great distinction since his first appointment; and

Whereas, he retires this year with twenty-nine years of exceptional service; and

Whereas, Judge Smith was born July 10, 1937, and has become a fixture of the Grays, South Carolina, community as a businessman, judicial official, and civic leader; and

Whereas, Judge Smith throughout his career has been known as a judge who treats all litigants alike with a sense of fairness and knowledge of the law; and

Whereas, in his retirement, Bobby Smith will get to spend more time with his lovely wife, Margaret, whom he married in 1962, and with their two daughters; and

Whereas, the State of South Carolina has been well-served by this fine South Carolinian during his time on the bench, and he will be sorely missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly commend Magistrate Bobby O. Smith of Grays, South Carolina, for a distinguished magisterial career in Jasper County upon his retirement as magistrate.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Judge Smith.
