A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO RENAME THE HIGHWAY 301 BYPASS IN FLORENCE COUNTY AS "DR. C. EDWARD FLOYD, JR. BOULEVARD" AND TO INSTALL APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS ALONG THIS ROAD CONTAINING THE WORDS "DR. C. EDWARD FLOYD BOULEVARD".

Whereas, Dr. C. Edward Floyd, of Florence County, a community leader, philanthropist, valued member of the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees, and devoted servant of the people of his community and State is well deserving of some tangible recognition of his devotion to community and public service; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the General Assembly to initiate this recognition by this resolution to name an important traffic artery in Florence County for this distinguished South Carolinian. Now, therefore

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly request the Department of Transportation to rename the Highway 301 Bypass in Florence County as "Dr. C. Edward Floyd Boulevard" and to install appropriate markers or signs along the road containing the words "Dr. C. Edward Floyd Boulevard".

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation and to Dr. C. Edward Floyd, of Florence County.
