A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 23-11-110, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON WHO HAS SERVED AS A STATE CONSTABLE FOR AT LEAST TEN YEARS MEETS THE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE OFFICE OF SHERIFF.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 23-11-110(A)(5)(d) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(d)    served as a summary court judge or a state constable for at least ten years."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
