A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 56-1-510, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE UNLAWFUL APPLICATION FOR OR USE OF A DRIVER'S LICENSE OR PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT IT IS UNLAWFUL TO USE A COUNTERFEIT DRIVER'S LICENSE OR IDENTIFICATION CARD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 56-1-510(1) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 181 of 1993, is further amended to read:

"(1)    to display or cause or permit to be displayed or have in his possession any canceled, revoked, suspended, counterfeit, or fraudulently altered driver's license or personal identification card;"

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
