A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 42-1-360, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO EXEMPTIONS OF EMPLOYEES FROM THE WORKERS COMPENSATION TITLE, SO AS TO INCLUDE EMPLOYEES OF HORSE TRAINERS AS EXEMPT AGRICULTURAL EMPLOYEES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 42-1-360(5) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(5)    Agricultural employees, which includes, but is not limited to, employees of trainers who are engaged in the caring, raising, management, or training of livestock; unless the agricultural employer voluntarily elects to be bound by this Title title, as provided by Section 42-1-380."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
