VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-101-287 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A MEMBER OF THE GOVERNING BOARD OF AN INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING MAY NOT SERVE ON THE BOARD FOR MORE THAN TWELVE CONSECUTIVE YEARS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 101, Title 59 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 59-101-287. A member of the governing board of an institution of higher learning, as defined in Section 59-103-5, may not serve on the board for more than twelve consecutive years."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
