A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 40-13-235 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON LICENSED AS A COSMETOLOGIST IN THIS STATE FOR A CONTINUOUS PERIOD OF TWENTY YEARS OR MORE IS EXEMPT FROM ANY CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSURE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Chapter 13, Title 40 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 40-13-235.    A person licensed as a cosmetologist in this State for a continuous period of twenty years or more is exempt from any continuing education requirements for licensure."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
