A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND PAY TRIBUTE TO THE THOUSANDS OF FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA MEMBERS IN SOUTH CAROLINA ON THE OCCASION OF NATIONAL FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA WEEK, FEBRUARY 19-26, 2005.

Whereas, the Future Farmers of America is a national organization of nearly five hundred thousand students of Agricultural Education in secondary schools, technical colleges, and universities with chapters in all fifty states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands; and

Whereas, more than seventy-five percent of Future Farmers of America members through the nation enroll in an institution of higher learning following graduation from high school in preparation for and pursuit of one of the more than three hundred career opportunities available in the science, business, or technology of America's diverse agricultural industry; and

Whereas, the Future Farmers of America organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education at the local, state, and national levels; and

Whereas, the South Carolina Future Farmers of America organization is tremendously successful and extremely valuable in improving the quality of life for its members through agricultural education. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the South Carolina General Assembly by this resolution, recognize and pay tribute to the thousands of Future Farmers of America members in South Carolina on the occasion of National Future Farmers of America week, February 19-26, 2005.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the appropriate South Carolina Future Farmers of America officials and agricultural educators.
