A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE THE LONG AND EXEMPLARY LIFE OF MR. DALE A. LOSEY, SR., OF AIKEN ON THE OCCASION OF HIS ONE HUNDRED SECOND BIRTHDAY AND TO WISH HIM THE VERY BEST ON THIS HAPPY OCCASION.

Whereas, Dale A. Losey, Sr. was born in New York State on July 15, 1903, grew up on a farm, and was the first member of his family to finish college when he graduated from Rochester University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering; and

Whereas, Mr. Losey worked for several years with the United States Corps of Engineers in New York, Maryland, and Tennessee, then moved to Aiken in 1951 to work for the Atomic Energy Commission at the Savannah River Plant until his retirement in 1965; and

Whereas, in 1966, he went to Iran to work under contract with the International Atomic Energy Agency and remained in that country for one year. He later worked with the architect in erecting the first building on the campus of the University of South Carolina, Aiken; and

Whereas, Dale Losey is a professional engineer, licensed land surveyor, and he has been a Mason for seventy-seven years. He is known for his dedication to his God, family, profession, and friends. He is the proud father of a son, Dale, Jr., and daughter, Marilyn; and

Whereas, he is a charter member of the New Covenant Presbyterian Church, was organized in 1983. He has been active in his church and various community organizations through the years. He has traveled extensively until recent years and has seen much of the world but South Carolina, and, in particular, Aiken has always been home; and

Whereas, this amazing man is a person of integrity, who has lived an exemplary life, and the members of the House of Representatives would like to publicly express to him happy birthday greetings. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and recognize the long and exemplary life of Mr. Dale A. Losey, Sr., of Aiken on the occasion of his one hundred second birthday and wish him the very best on this happy occasion.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Losey.
