A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND RECOGNIZE THE WACCAMAW HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS TENNIS TEAM ON ITS IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS AND THEIR COACHES, JAMES B. BROWN AND BROWDER MCGILL, ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, no stranger to the taste of victory, the Waccamaw High School Girls Tennis Team capped their outstanding season by capturing the South Carolina AA State Championship Title. The 2005 title marks their second consecutive state championship win; and

Whereas, excellence in tennis demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as team play and good sportsmanship; and

Whereas, using those talents and attributes, coaches James B. Brown and Browder McGill and their players showed both fans and foes that last year's state title win was no fluke; and

Whereas, the eighteen young women of the Waccamaw Girls Tennis Team showed great poise and grace on the court, always remaining sportsmanlike and representing their school and surrounding community with the finest caliber; and

Whereas, standout Allison Stanford brought further recognition to her team by winning the State AA Singles Tennis Title; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pride in recognizing the young women of the Waccamaw High School Girls Tennis Team for their determination and perseverance in achieving both in the classroom and on the tennis court, and expects to hear of great accomplishments in the seasons to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and recognize the Waccamaw High School Girls Tennis Team for its impressive win of the South Carolina AA State Championship Title and honor the players and their coaches, James B. Brown and Browder McGill, for an exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach James B. Brown of the Waccamaw High School Girls Tennis Team.
