VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND SECTION 59-150-230, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE PAYMENT OF A LOTTERY PRIZE, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A LOTTERY PRIZE MUST NOT BE CLAIMED BY OR PAID TO AN ILLEGAL ALIEN AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE PRIZE MUST BE FORFEITED TO THE COMMISSION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 59-150-230(G) of the 1976 Code, is amended to read:
"(G) A lottery prize must not be claimed by or paid to: (i) a person who is incarcerated.; or (ii) an alien who is in this State illegally. A lottery prize payment received in violation of this subsection must be returned immediately and in full to the commission."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
