AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-490, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE AND RENAME CERTAIN VOTING PRECINCTS IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY AND REDESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER FOR THE MAP ON WHICH LINES OF THESE PRECINCTS ARE DELINEATED AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICS OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Spartanburg County precincts, revised and renamed; map number redesignated

SECTION    1.    Section 7-7-490 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 217 of 2004, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-490.    (A)    In Spartanburg County there are the following voting precincts:

(B)    The precinct lines defining the precincts in subsection (A) are as shown on the official map on file with the Office of Research and Statistics of the South Carolina Budget and Control Board and as shown on copies provided to the Board of Voter Registration of the county by the Office of Research and Statistics designated as document P-83-06.

(C)    The polling places for the precincts listed in subsection (A) must be determined by the Spartanburg County Election Commission with the approval of a majority of the Spartanburg County Legislative Delegation."

Time effective

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Ratified the 27th day of April, 2006.

Approved the 2nd day of May, 2006.
