VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE THE EASTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL "EAGLES" WRESTLING TEAM OF GREENVILLE COUNTY FOR ITS OUTSTANDING CAPTURE OF THE 2006 CLASS AAA STATE WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP, AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS AND THEIR COACH, JACK KOSMICKI, ON AN EXTRAORDINARY SEASON.
Whereas, no stranger to state titles, the Eastside High School "Eagles" Wrestling Team concluded the 2006 season by recapturing its third consecutive Class AAA State Wrestling Championship; and
Whereas, championship caliber wrestling demands individual strength, flexibility, and discipline as well as good sportsmanship; and
Whereas, Coach Kosmicki and the rest of his staff worked hard, distilling these key attributes into the mindsets of each wrestler through intensive practices and relentless hours in the weight room; and
Whereas, the Eagles capitalized on all the skills and knowledge embedded into them through the assistance of Coach Kosmicki and his staff and demonstrated to the rest of the state that Eastside High School is a powerhouse on the wrestling mat by defeating North Myrtle Beach 42-9 at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School to bring home their third consecutive state crown; and
Whereas, after they were declared Class AAA state champions, a number of wrestlers and fans for Eastside raised three fingers in recognition of the Eagles' recent achievements; and
Whereas, Eastside High School dominated the Class AAA Upperstate Wrestling Tournament with a score of 237.50 while defeating the first and second runners-up, Lugoff-Elgin High School and Riverside High School who scored 181.50 and 124.00 respectively; and
Whereas, the members of the 2006 Eastside High School Wrestling Team included: Eddie Coles, Joey Reis, Andrew Jenkins, Will Baker, Bryce Martin, Chris Teague, Corbin Martin, Matt Leach, Auston Poynter, Cody Etheredge, Tim Hunt, Weston Newton, Marc Steiner, Alex Perry, Matt Golob, Justin Brewer, Teddy Walker, Ross Nelson, Scott Williams, JC Oddo, Kyle Neely, and Bobby Jones; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives take great pride in recognizing the young men of the Eastside High School Wrestling Team for their diligence and perseverance in achieving in both the classroom and on the wrestling mat, and look forward to hearing of more great accomplishments in seasons to come. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the Eastside High School "Eagles" Wrestling Team of Greenville County for its outstanding capture of the 2006 Class AAA State Wrestling Championship, and honor the players and their coach, Jack Kosmicki, on an extraordinary season.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the players, coaches, and school officials of the Eastside High School Wrestling Team.
