A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE DR. LAWRENCE STRONG, MATHEMATICS PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA, SALKEHATCHIE CAMPUS, ON HIS RETIREMENT AFTER THIRTY-TWO YEARS OF DEVOTED SERVICE, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HIM FOR A HEALTHY AND FRUITFUL RETIREMENT.

Whereas, since 1974, Dr. Lawrence Strong has taught math at the University of South Carolina, Salkehatchie Campus; and

Whereas, he is a full professor at the University, having completed his B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Utah and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi; and

Whereas, as well as his teaching duties at USC Salkehatchie Campus, Dr. Strong has served as Division Chair for Science and Mathematics for several years; and

Whereas, he has had diverse responsibilities at USC Salkehatchie such as extensive research in Indian artifacts and Native Americans in Allendale County; and

Whereas, Dr. Strong has been an inspiration to the many students and professors and will be sorely missed for his leadership and guidance. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate Dr. Lawrence Strong, Mathematics Professor at the University of South Carolina, Salkehatchie Campus, on his retirement after thirty-two years of devoted service, and extend their best wishes to him for a healthy and fruitful retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Strong.
