A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE ROCKWELL AUTOMATION FOR ITS OUTSTANDING WORK IN THE FIELD OF AUTO PRODUCT MANUFACTURING AND TO HONOR ROCKWELL AUTOMATION RACING FOR ITS EXCEPTIONAL COMMITMENT TO THE NASCAR BUSCH SERIES.

Whereas, headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, Rockwell Automation Power Systems produces high quality electric motors, electric drives, and mechanical power transmission products that are used by top companies worldwide; and

Whereas, a leader in industrial manufacturing, Rockwell Automation provides steady jobs to hardworking South Carolinians and has become a mainstay in our State with manufacturing facilities in Greenville, Belton, and Clio; and

Whereas, committed to the furtherance of their communities, Rockwell Automation employees raised over $250,000.00 in donations to benefit the United Way, making it the largest gift of all Greenville companies with less than 750 employees; and

Whereas, Rockwell Automation Racing celebrates ten years of involvement with the NASCAR Busch Series and remains firmly committed to NASCAR's main feeder system. As the third longest running sponsor, Rockwell Automation has propelled several drivers into lasting careers in NASCAR; and

Whereas, the company began its involvement with the racing series by serving as an associate sponsor for Lyndon Amick, the 1996 Good Dash Series Champion. For the last seven years, Rockwell Automation has been a primary sponsor in the NASCAR Busch Series and is affiliated with the elite Joe Gibbs Racing and Richard Childress Racing programs; and

Whereas, with four drivers currently active in the NASCAR Nextel Cup and eight drivers having gone on to previously compete in the race, Rockwell Automation Racing has cemented its place in the NASCAR circuit; and

Whereas, the current driver for Rockwell Automation Racing is Denny Hamlin, who won at Darlington and in Mexico City in 2006; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pride in recognizing Rockwell Automation and Rockwell Automation Racing for their contributions to the manufacturing and racing worlds. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize Rockwell Automation for its outstanding work in the field of auto product manufacturing and honor Rockwell Automation Racing for its exceptional commitment to the NASCAR Busch Series.

Be It further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to the Presidents of Rockwell Automation and Rockwell Automation Racing, respectively.
