A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE CHIEF CLARENCE DERRILL MCCONNELL OF ANDERSON UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE CITY OF ANDERSON POLICE DEPARTMENT AFTER FORTY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Clarence D. McConnell began his career with the City of Anderson Police Department on May 24, 1965 and will retire on the May 24, 2005, marking forty years of service; and

Whereas, he was promoted to Anderson Police Chief in December of 1995, where he has served since; and

Whereas, Chief McConnell received a degree from Anderson College and as well as a degree from Forrest College in 1965; and

Whereas, on the occasion of his retirement, the Senate is pleased to recognize and honor the distinguished career of service of Chief McConnell, exemplified by his commitment to the city of Anderson and its citizens. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Chief Clarence Derrill McConnell of Anderson upon the occasion of his retirement from the city of Anderson Police Department after forty years of dedicated service and to wish him much success and happiness in all of his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Chief Clarence McConnell of Anderson.
