VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE THE MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF KAY K. FUKUSHIMA, PAST PRESIDENT OF LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL, AND WELCOME HIM TO THE LIONS CLUB CONVENTION IN GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, Kay K. Fukushima served as President of Lions Club International two years ago and is one of the most respected members of Lions Club International; and
Whereas, he joined the Sacramento Lions Club in 1965 and has held many positions within the association, including club president, zone chairman, deputy district governor, and district governor; and
Whereas, he has also been very active in the national and international affairs of the Lions. In addition to his service as President of Lions Club International, he also served as the Director on the International Association of Lions Clubs Board of Directors, was a member of the original Leadership Institute Faculty from 1994-97, and in 1998 he served as the General Convention Chairman in Denver, Colorado; and
Whereas, throughout his career, Kay Fukushima has received numerous awards in recognition for his service to the association, including Life membership, the 100% Club President Award, eleven presidential medals, and the Ambassador of Good Will Award; and
Whereas, Mr. Fukushima continues to serve his local community by remaining active with the Sacramento Zoo and other community youth recreation programs; and
Whereas, Kay Fukushima is married to his lovely wife Denise, and they have two wonderful children and four grandchildren; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, would like to welcome to South Carolina this outstanding man who has given so much to his community and nation as he participates in the Lions Club Convention in Greenville. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate recognize the many accomplishments of Kay K. Fukushima, Past President of Lions Club International and welcome him to the Lions Club Convention in Greenville, South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Kay K. Fukushima.
