THE COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS

To whom was referred a Joint Resolution (H. 3034) to direct the Department of Commerce to study the viability of establishing an inland intermodal port in the vicinity of the intersection of Interstate Highways 95 and 26, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass with amendment:

Amend the joint resolution, as and if amended, in SECTION 1, by striking /2006/ on line 25 and inserting /2007/.

When amended SECTION 1 shall read:

SECTION    1.    The Department of Commerce is directed to study the viability of establishing an inland intermodal port in the vicinity of the intersection of Interstate Highways 95 and 26 and to submit a written report of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly on January 10, 2007.

Renumber sections to conform.

Amend title to conform.

A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO DIRECT THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE TO STUDY THE VIABILITY OF ESTABLISHING AN INLAND INTERMODAL PORT IN THE VICINITY OF THE INTERSECTION OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS 95 AND 26 AND TO REPORT ITS FINDINGS TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON JANUARY 10, 2006.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The Department of Commerce is directed to study the viability of establishing an inland intermodal port in the vicinity of the intersection of Interstate Highways 95 and 26 and to submit a written report of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly on January 10, 2006.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
