To whom was referred a Bill (H. 3318) to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Section 40-13-255 so as to provide that continuing education courses taken out of state by, etc., respectfully
That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass with amendment:
Amend the bill, as and if amended, by deleting all after the enacting words and inserting:
/ SECTION 1. Chapter 13, Title 40 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 40-13-255. The board may approve continuing education courses whether taken in state or out of state in a manner provided by the board."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor. /
Renumber sections to conform.
Amend title to conform.

EXPLANATION OF IMPACT:
The Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation reports this bill will have no impact on the General Fund of the State, or on federal and/or other funds.

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 40-13-255 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES TAKEN OUT OF STATE BY A COSMETOLOGIST LICENSED IN THIS STATE MUST COUNT TOWARD THE COSMETOLOGIST'S ANNUAL SOUTH CAROLINA CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS IN A MANNER PROVIDED BY THE BOARD.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 13, Title 40 of the 1976 Code if amended by adding:
"Section 40-13-255. Continuing education courses taken out of state by a cosmetologist licensed in this State must count toward the cosmetologist's annual South Carolina continuing education requirements in a manner provided by the board."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
