A HOUSE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF THE LATE CHRISTOPHER CASWELL WILCOX AND SHARING THEIR SORROW AT THE UNTIMELY DEATH OF THIS FINE YOUNG MAN.

Whereas, Christopher Caswell Wilcox died April 10, 2005, in the last weeks of his junior year at The Citadel; and

Whereas, Cadet Sergeant Wilcox exhibited all the traits of an outstanding Citadel gentleman; and

Whereas, his scholarship earned him a place on the Dean's List a number of times, his leadership garnered for him an Army ROTC Scholarship and a position on the Honor Court in his upcoming senior year, and his athleticism was recognized by being named captain of and Best Defensive Player on The Citadel Lacrosse Team and a member of the Division B All-Conference Team; and

Whereas, Chris will be sorely missed by his friends; his parents John David Wilcox, Jr. and Karen DuBois Wilcox of Mt. Pleasant; and by his brothers, John D. Wilcox III, James H. Wilcox, Ashton D. Wilcox, and Logan A. Wilcox; and

Whereas, it is always a loss to this State when one of her exemplary young people is lost before having the opportunity to put his many talents to use in touching the lives of South Carolina's citizens. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, express condolences to the family and friends of the late Christopher Caswell Wilcox and share their sorrow at the untimely death of this fine young man.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Christopher Caswell Wilcox.
