A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 50-5-1705, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO CATCH LIMITS IN REGARD TO CERTAIN SALTWATER GAMEFISH, SO AS TO REDUCE THE CATCH LIMIT FOR FLOUNDER; AND TO AMEND SECTION 50-5-1710, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO SIZE LIMITS IN REGARD TO CERTAIN SALTWATER GAMEFISH, SO AS TO INCREASE THE REQUIRED SIZE LIMIT FOR FLOUNDER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 50-5-1705(F) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 105 of 2001, is further amended to read:

"(F)    It is unlawful for a person to take or possess more than twenty fifteen flounder (Paralichthys species) taken by means of gig, spear, hook and line, or similar device in any one day."

SECTION    2.    Section 50-5-1710(2) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 105 of 2001, is further amended to read:

"(2)    flounder (Paralichthys) of less than twelve fourteen inches total length;"

SECTION    3.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
