A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR DR. WILLIAM O. LAMPRECHT FOR HIS EXCEPTIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE LIVES OF THE MANY YOUNG PEOPLE HE HAS TAUGHT DURING HIS TENURE OF OVER THIRTY YEARS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA SALKEHATCHIE AND TO WISH HIM THE BEST IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS UPON HIS RETIREMENT.

Whereas, it is with great pride that the members of the House of Representatives recognize those citizens who give tirelessly of themselves in educating and encouraging South Carolina's youth; and

Whereas, Dr. William O. Lamprecht is certainly one such individual, as he has inspired scores of students throughout his illustrious career as an educator at the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie for over thirty years; and

Whereas, this dedicated educator has taught Biology at the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie since the fall of 1972, and he is a full professor at the University; and

Whereas, Dr. Lamprecht holds a B.S. degree in Agronomy, an M.S. in Statistics, and a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from Texas A&M; and

Whereas, in addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Lamprecht served for over ten years as the chairman of the Science and Mathematics Division, and he was the Biology Club advisor for over twenty years; and

Whereas, beloved by students, faculty, and staff alike, Dr. Lamprecht is proud to hold the record at the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie for being elected by the students as Outstanding Professor of the Year an impressive ten times; and

Whereas, all those who were fortunate enough to learn under the direction of Dr. Lamprecht are certainly forever changed because of his influence, and the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to pause and thank him for his dedication and commitment to higher education in South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor Dr. William O. Lamprecht for his exceptional contributions to the lives of the many young people he has taught during his tenure of over thirty years at the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie and wish him the best in all his future endeavors upon his retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. William O. Lamprecht.
