TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND ADMINISTRATION OF SOUTHSIDE HIGH SCHOOL IN GREENVILLE COUNTY ON BEING RANKED THIRTY-SIXTH AMONG THE NATION'S PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOLS BY NEWSWEEK MAGAZINE.

Whereas, Southside High School in Greenville County instituted the state's first International Baccalaureate Program; and

Whereas, in 2005, Southside High School was ranked at one hundred fifty-five among Newsweek magazine's top one thousand public high schools in the United States; and

Whereas, for 2006, the high school's ranking by Newsweek magazine improved from one hundred fifty-five to thirty-six; and

Whereas, this outstanding improvement in its national ranking continues to place Southside High School at the top of the list for Greenville County and makes it the second ranked high school among all schools in the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, this well-deserved honor continues to make Southside High School the standard to meet for public high schools in South Carolina and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its students, faculty, and administration; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the House of Representatives to pause in their deliberations to recognize this great achievement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
