VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
RECOGNIZING MR. JAMES MICHAEL "JIMMY" ARAKAS FOR BEING AWARDED AN ARCHON BY THE GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH.
Whereas, an Archon is a member of the Greek Orthodox Community at-large who is recognized by His All Holiness, the Ecunemical Patriarch, for his outstanding service to the Church and to the community; and
Whereas, the Archon is bestowed only upon those who have shown an outstanding degree of commitment toward the stewardship of time, talent, and treasure for the betterment of the Church and Greek Orthodox Community as a whole; and
Whereas, The Archon further takes on great responsibility with this designation, and commits to conform faithfully to the teachings of Christ, and the doctrines, canon, worship, discipline, and encyclicals of the Church; and
Whereas, The Archon is committed to supporting the human race's inalienable rights wherever and whenever they are violated; and
Whereas, Mr. James Michael "Jimmy" Arakas of Myrtle Beach has been awarded an Archon by the Greek Orthodox Church; and
Whereas, this award affirms that Mr. Arakas is a living testament to putting your beliefs into action. He has touched the lives of many and has had a positive impact on all who have known him. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this Resolution, do recognize Mr. James Michael "Jimmy" Arakas for being awarded an Archon by the Greek Orthodox Church.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. James Michael "Jimmy" Arakas.
