A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE, COMMEND, AND EXPRESS THE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO JANE FALLAW FOR HER YEARS OF DEDICATED AND DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA UPON HER RETIREMENT FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE, AND TO WISH HER WELL IN ALL FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, on February 20, 2008, Jane Fallaw is retiring after thirty years of dedicated and distinguished service as an employee of the South Carolina Senate; and

Whereas, Jane is the third daughter of the late Eugene and Janie Toney. She has three sisters, Ruby Toney Farmer, Ann Toney Malpass, and Mary Toney Burkett; and

Whereas, Jane is married to Weldon Foster Fallaw. They have two daughters, Gena Elizabeth Fallaw Turner, who is married to Timothy Reed Turner, and Toney Katherine Fallaw Rish, who is married to Jason David Rish. Jane and Weldon have three grandchildren, Jacob Foster Turner, Elizabeth Reed Turner, and Olivia Katherine Rish; and

Whereas, Jane grew up in the Town of Union, where she attended and graduated from Union High School. She also graduated from Cecil's Business College in Spartanburg; and

Whereas, Jane is a member of State Street Baptist Church of Cayce, where she serves as Church Clerk, serves on the Futuring Team, sings in the Worship Choir, and attends the Grace Sunday School Class; and

Whereas, Jane began working for the State of South Carolina in 1965, where she was employed with Vocational Rehabilitation for twelve years; and

Whereas, during her career with the South Carolina Senate, which began in September, 1978, Jane Fallaw served five senators with distinction, including Senator Robert Lake, Senator Elizabeth Patterson, Senator John Russell, Senator Nikki Setzler, and Senator Brad Hutto. She also held the position of Administrative Assistant for the Senate Education Committee under Senator Setzler; and

Whereas, Jane's years and dedicated service to her beloved Senate and State have left an indelible impact on the people around her. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize, commend, and express their appreciation to Jane Fallaw for her years of dedicated and distinguished service to the State of South Carolina upon her retirement from the South Carolina Senate, and wish her well in all future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Jane Fallaw.
