A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE BILLY THOMPSON, OF MARION COUNTY, UPON BEING NAMED CITY OF MARION EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR.

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the Senate honors individuals who give tirelessly of themselves to the betterment of this great State's citizenry; and

Whereas, Billy Thompson, athletic director for the City of Marion Recreation Department, stands highly respected among their number as a hard-working man of integrity and unselfish loyalty to the people he serves; and

Whereas, an employee of the City of Marion for almost nineteen years, Mr. Thompson began in the maintenance department and worked his way up to athletic director. He also serves on the Safety Committee; and

Whereas, known for going above and beyond the call of duty, Billy Thompson especially enjoys those responsibilities that allow him to work with the children of the community. To ensure safety, he is committed to helping them learn to have fun while following the rules; and

Whereas, the Senate takes pride in recognizing individuals like Billy Thompson as model employees and encourages others to follow his example of excellence. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Billy Thompson, of Marion County, upon being named City of Marion Employee of the Year.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Billy Thompson.
