A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-1-429 SO AS TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARDS OF TRUSTEES OF THE YORK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO ESTABLISH THE OPENING DATE FOR SCHOOL TO BEGIN.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Article 5, Chapter 1, Title 59 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 59-1-429.    Notwithstanding Section 59-1-425, the boards of trustees of the York County school districts are authorized to establish the opening date for school to begin."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
