VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO HONOR THE DARLINGTON COUNTY EXTRICATION TEAM FOR ITS COURAGE AND COMMITMENT TO FURTHERING THE RESPONSE CAPABILITIES OF LOCAL EMERGENCY RESPONDERS, AND TO RECOGNIZE THE TEAM'S MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
Whereas, the Darlington County Extrication Team is a nonprofit organization comprised of volunteers committed to furthering the response capabilities of local emergency responders to motor vehicle collisions and other types of entrapments; and
Whereas, with funding only from personal and private donations and fundraisers, these courageous team members purchase specialty equipment not commonly available for emergency use, provide training to local departments and industries, and increase their own skills and knowledge through competitions and learning symposiums; and
Whereas, having successfully tested their skills using the latest vehicle and rescue-system technology, the team captured a third-place overall finish in the November 2006 Transportation and Emergency Rescue Committee National Competition and will compete in the international competition in Indianapolis this year; and
Whereas, truly representative of its county, the Darlington County Extrication Team hosts members from the Hartsville Fire Department, Darlington County Fire District, Lamar Rescue Squad, Society Hill Rescue Squad, and Darlington County Emergency Medical Services; and
Whereas, current team members are Les Baker, Jason Bell, Jeff Burr, Trey Watson, Brent Walters, and Timmy Martin; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives take great pleasure in honoring and expressing heartfelt gratitude to such an outstanding group of dedicated volunteers as the Darlington County Extrication Team for its lifesaving contributions to the welfare of South Carolina's citizens. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor the Darlington County Extrication Team for its courage and commitment to furthering the response capabilities of local emergency responders, and recognize the team's many accomplishments.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Darlington County Extrication Team.
