TO CONGRATULATE THE CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER TEAM ON ITS IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2007 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS, HEAD COACH DAVID WILCOX, AND HIS ASSISTANTS ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON.

Whereas, in May 2007, the Christ Church Episcopal School boys soccer team capped its 21-3 season by capturing the 2007 South Carolina Independent School Association Class A State Championship title, defeating a fine Lincoln High School team 2-1 in the finals; and

Whereas, exhibiting teamwork, dedication, tenacity, and ability, Christ Church achieved this sweet victory as its seventh straight Class A state soccer championship. Adding to the luster of the win, team members Armin Kinigadner, Michael Brearley, and Rick Furman were named to the All-State team; and

Whereas, the masterful Cavaliers carried home a string of additional honors, including grabbing the Byrnes Preseason Invitational Tournament Championship. They also saw Rick Furman and Armin Kinigadner named to the North-South Classic All-Star team, David Wilcox honored as North-South Classic All-Star game head coach, and Michael Brearley earn a berth on the Byrnes All-Tournament team; and

Whereas, under the able leadership of Head Coach David Wilcox, supported by the team's assistant coach, Chris Nichols, and its athletic trainer, Dan Markovich, the Cavaliers brought deserved accolades not only upon themselves but also upon the Christ Church community and Greenville County; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives take great pleasure in recognizing the noteworthy achievements of such outstanding young men as those on the Christ Church boys soccer team and expect to hear of continued great accomplishments in years to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the Christ Church Episcopal School boys soccer team on its impressive win of the 2007 South Carolina Independent School Association Class A State Championship title, and honor the players, Head Coach David Wilcox, and his assistants on an outstanding season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Christ Church's upper school director, William C. Sparrgrove; its athletic director, Travis Perry; and Head Coach David Wilcox.
