Whereas, no stranger to the taste of victory, the Dorman High School cheerleading team capped its outstanding season by capturing the 2007 Class AAAA South Carolina High School League's Competitive Cheer Championship title; and
Whereas, excellence in cheerleading demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as teamwork and good sportsmanship; and
Whereas, using these talents and attributes, Coach Kami Appleton Miranda and her team powerhoused their way into a consecutive two-year winning streak and showed both fans and foes alike that the Dorman Cavaliers' winning of the state title in 2006 was no fluke; and
Whereas, the team showed its mettle in numerous other triumphs during the season, among them grabbing first place and Grand Champion status in the AAAA Varsity Division of the Fourth Annual Indian Invitational, the Viking Invitational, and the Dorman Cavalier Cheer Classic; and
Whereas, the twenty-eight young women of the Dorman High School cheerleading team showed great poise, energy, and grace in performing, always remaining sportsmanlike and representing their school and surrounding community admirably; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing the young women of the Dorman High School cheerleading team for their determination and perseverance in achieving, both in the classroom and on the mat, and expects to hear of great accomplishments in the seasons to come. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
