TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND TODD RAYMOND SHIFFLET FOR HIS YEARS OF DEDICATION AND TIRELESS EFFORTS TO ENHANCE THE HEALTH OF THE CITIZENS OF CHESTERFIELD COUNTY.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives take great pride in commending public servants in South Carolina who give of their time and energy so freely to promote the greater good; and

Whereas, having a bachelor's degree in English from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, North Carolina, and a master's degree in American literature from Winthrop University, Todd learned to perform multiple duties with clarity and distinction; and

Whereas, Todd Shifflet and his beloved wife, Alexandria, have the joys and responsibilities of raising twins, Whitman and Grace, Todd remains enthusiastically productive, including writing grants and offering other expertise on behalf of numerous organizations in Chesterfield County; and

Whereas, having served as treasurer of Chesterfield County Coordinating Council (CCCC) from 2004 to 2007, Todd Shifflet has been instrumental in the success of CCCC and other nonprofit, health and human service organizations in the county; and

Whereas, since 2002, Todd's leadership as chairperson of the CCCC Health Subcommittee has directly resulted in better informed health care providers, rapid implementation of new services, and three years of successful outcomes from the Interfaith Health Conference; and

Whereas, with a zeal for the work undertaken by the CCCC, Todd has enabled agencies to cooperate in providing quality services and to achieve common goals for residents of Chesterfield County; and

Whereas, he directly impacted the formation of the Northeastern Rural Health Network, a direct service health care collaborative group serving Chesterfield and Marlboro Counties, and the opening of a second CareSouth Carolina facility in Chesterfield; and

Whereas, through his service on the vestry at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Hartsville, Todd has shown enthusiastic support for his community and has acknowledged his need for spiritual refreshing to sustain his concerted efforts; and

Whereas, Todd inspires his associates with his passion, generosity, and humility, and his extraordinary efforts are greatly appreciated, especially by the beneficiaries of those efforts in Chesterfield County. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend Todd Raymond Shifflet for his years of dedication and tireless efforts to enhance the health of the citizens of Chesterfield County.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Todd Raymond Shifflet.
